Aww!! Hope needs a Home….
Consider it an occupational hazard. Work at a veterinary clinic long enough, and eventually you will wind up falling for a patient. In the case of veterinary technician Christina Simpson, she fell for a patient that had been left behind at her roommate’s veterinary clinic.
Oreo’s owner surrendered the dog because the animal could no longer use her hind legs. After hearing about Oreo, Simpson offered to try laser therapy. The procedure promotes healing at the cellular level by increasing blood flow and decreasing inflammation in the injured area, and had been used successfully by Simpson’s colleagues at Eagle’s Landing Veterinary Hospital in Georgia. Simpson was so sure laser therapy would work that she took responsibility for the perky pooch, renaming her Hope.

Kitten makes 6,500 mile trip on LA-bound ship
CARSON, Calif. — A 3-month-old kitten appears alert after traveling from Shanghai to Los Angeles in a freight container on a boat.
The orange-and-white short-haired kitten traveled 6,500 miles without food or water and arrived Wednesday, officials say. Los Angeles County animal control officers are cautiously watchinghis health.
The kitten was retrieved from the container at a Compton-area business where it was delivered.
Animal control director Marcia Mayeda says the kitten ate and slept well at the Carson Animal Care Center. He woke up Thursday alert and responsive.
Mayeda says workers named him Ni Hao (NEE’-How), which means hello.
The kitten is quarantined, which is standard procedure after entering the U.S. from another country. When he recovers, gets his shots and is fixed, the shelter will look for foster and permanent homes.
